A workforce that is fit and healthy means more than just happy staff. It can have a positive impact on productivity as well. We have a range of Work Health services specifically for employers to use to help keep staff fit, healthy, and safe for the job.
Our services
Reducing Workplace Injuries
A worksite assessment looks at the causes of workplace injuries, and identifies ways to prevent problems using an occupational health and safety risk assessment, ergonomic assessment or training. These assessments are also ideal for upgrading medical certificates or deciding the best duties for a worker with particular needs or limitations.
Fit for Work Assessments
If you are unsure if your worker can manage the rigours of their job, an evaluation by our team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and ergonomists will determine their strength, endurance and tolerance for specific and simulated work tasks. We look at aspects such as their ability to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance and lift, plus their general fitness. These assessments are often called Functional Capacity Evaluations (or FCEs)
Teaching Safe Workplace Practices
We teach and train your staff in the correct methods of safe handling of workplace items or goods, and show them how to assess the risks found in their particular working environment Our seminars are limited to 15 people and are interactive, fun and specifically tailored to your business. Our training sessions can be held at either our place or yours.
Education and Early Intervention – Keeping your Industrial Athletes on the Field
This programme is based on the principles of early reporting of discomfort and clear, regular communication between your company and Southern Rehab. Work is healthy, both physically and psychologically, and this programme aims to keep your workers “in the game”. By assessing, treating and educating your workers they will be more productive and have less time off work.
