Service Lead for Physiotherapy
Helen joined the practice in 1997, became a business partner in 2007, and in August 2014 became sole Director. Helen managed Southern Rehab in Nelson until 2018 and is now the Service Lead for Physiotherapy across the South Island for Southern Rehab. Helen loves being part of a dynamic team of medical professionals. Helen completed a Masters degree through Otago University and has attained the acclaimed McKenzie Institute International Diploma. Encouraging a philosophy of ‘exercise for life’, Helen walks, cycles, and mountain bikes in the stunning Nelson environs.
Sharon joined our team in 2011, after graduating from AUT. She combines enthusiasm and energy with her quest for knowledge and has completed both the McKenzie and Mulligan Credentialing courses to date. Sharon has completed further postgraduate study in Vocational Rehabilitation in 2013. Sharon presently works in our Richmond and ASB clinics. She spends her spare time raising calves and helping her husband in their farming ventures.
Sam started with us after completing his second degree at university. He brings a fresh and dynamic approach and is our current social convener. Sam has a special interest in the area of rehabilitation.
Colette has joined us from Wellington and brings her wealth of experience and dedication. She is invaluable as part of our Industrial and Vocational Rehab programmes.
Soo is your first contact by phone or in person at our main clinic. She comes from a banking background in Guernsey but is now proudly a Kiwi citizen. Soo enjoys swimming for fitness.
Sue founded our original company, Richmond Physiotherapy, in 1992. She has completed postgraduate study in Manual Therapy and been a Credentialed McKenzie Therapist since 1999. Sue has two adult daughters, and loves to tramp, walk and cycle. She enjoys international travel to attend conferences and to keep up-to-date professionally while enjoying varied cultural experiences.
Marike joined our team in May 2015 after working in Dunedin and traveling. She has moved to Nelson with her husband and has recently started a family and returned to work part time. She is enjoying establishing her future in our great healthy area.
Sarah was raised in Belgium, and is Irish with a personality to match! Sarah trained in Scotland and is presently enjoying all that Nelson has to offer with a very active lifestyle. Sarah is passionate about the area of physiotherapy.
Lisa is our fully qualified massage specialist, working in association with our Nelson clinic supporting Active Well-being. Lisa works closely with our physiotherapists, supplying therapeutic massage to complement post injury rehabilitation and sports conditioning.
Karen is our part-time receptionist and adds her organisational skills to the front desk at least once a week.
Martin joined our team in 2008. He enhances Southern Rehab’s reputation as a cutting-edge clinic by incorporating fresh ideas, techniques and research. Martin is a Credentialed McKenzie Therapist and has completed a PG Certificate in Vocational Rehab. Martin is married with a young family and is a keen sports person playing regular cricket and team sports.
Dee has moved from Auckland for a better life! She has completed a Masters degree in Rehabilitation and is proving to be a very valuable member of our team. Her experience in pain management is proving to be very valuable. Dee and her husband are looking forward to starting a family and settling permanently in Nelson.
Jane has extensive experience in vocational rehabilitation and has been working in our Vocational Rehab team for the last two years. She adds a new dimension to our team and enables us to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to rehabilitation.
After 27 years in the travel industry, Pauline’s skills and experience in administration is an enormous asset to the team at Southern Rehab. Pauline keeps fit at the gym, netball, and working on her property.
