Initial Occupational Assessment (IOA)
Assessment with a Vocational Consultant to establish work types that a client is able to pursue after an injury where they are unable to return to their pre-injury work. The assessment takes into account the individual’s skills, educationa and experience – a report is supplied to the Case Manager within five working days of the assessment.
These assessments are performed by SRI’s Vocational Consultants who have the necessary qualifications and experience to perform this often complex but very important documant with regards to the patietns rehabilitaiton. These appointments classically require 60 to 90 minutes of face-to-face sessiona and are normally followed up by a phone call to inform the patient of any outcomes. The IOA forms the basis of job options that ACC may consider for use in the patient’s rehabilitation journey. The IOA is then complimented by an IMA (Independent Medical Assessment) which may also be performed at SRI by one of our physicians.
